Classic Travel Earns ISO 9001:2015 Certification for Outbound Travel Services

In a bid to deliver exceptional customer service standards and synonymous with Classic Travel’s corporate values, the Company received the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 Certification for its outbound travel services. By meeting the extensive criteria set for these standards, Classic Travel will now be able to support its core capabilities and competencies to drive continuous improvements to its service offering and internal processes.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) helps companies develop management systems that focus on quality, risk-based thinking and accountability. The ISO 9000 group of quality management standards is designed to help organizations to meet the needs of customers while meeting regulatory requirements.

Commenting on the achievement of  the ISO 9001:2015 Certification, Chief Executive Officer of Classic Travel, Suresh Mendis said “The acquisition of this standard is a further testament to Classic Travel’s commitment in maintaining high quality services and also to continuously strive to upgrade and improve its services, at all times”

Classic Travel Receives Gold Award at the National Business Excellence Awards 2017

In recognition of its excellence in business, Classic Travel was awarded a Gold Award under the Other Services category at the recently concluded National Business Excellence Awards 2017 (NBEA), the annual award competition hosted by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL). Classic Travels hosts unique ‘Race It-Ace It’ Speedster Battle

Paving the way in creating unique customer experiences, Classic Travel Ltd. hosted a fun-filled and distinctive promotion to offer an all-paid package giveaway to Singapore’s F1 Grand Prix scheduled to be held this month.

A virtual Formula 1 race simulator was set-up at the Classic Travel office in Colombo 3, where 25 participants had the opportunity to race and score the highest lap run for the day. The promotion was held for nine consecutive days from 19 to 27 August. Over 200 avid F1 racers participated to cover over 600 laps during the promotional period.

A total of 24 semi-finalists raced to be selected among the 10 finalists and compete at the finale. The finalists battled to score the highest lap run during the grand finals on 27 August with Afzal Preena emerging as the grand winner of the ‘Race it-Ace it’ Speedster Battle, scoring the highest lap run of 1.41.525.  Additionally, Mazoomi Mauroof emerged as the first-runner up with a lap run of 1.42.401, while Iqram Caffoor was ranked the second-runner up, scoring a lap run of 1.42.479.

Guest of Honour for the ‘Race it-Ace it’ Speedster Battle awards ceremony was Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders Secretary Suminda De Silva, while Classic Travels management, friends and families of the competition participants were keen spectators at the event.

Classic Travel Rugby Team Debuts at the 47th Mercantile Rugby Sevens 2017

Classic Travel, the trusted brand in total travel solutions – a subsidiary of Expolanka Holdings PLC – offers travel services to both corporate and leisure markets, will debut its 12 member rugby team at the ongoing 47th Mercantile Rugby Sevens 2017 at the Race Course International Stadium.

The team will play in Group ‘C’ of the tournament, led by team Captain Azeem Amit and Vice Captain Imran Zarook and coached by Dev Anandh.

The team are not newcomers to the sport of rugby or to mercantile rugby tournaments, as these players have represented Expolanka Holdings since 2011 in league tournaments. 04, August, 2016: In line with its CSR initiatives, Classic Travel, leading travel solutions provider in Sri Lanka stepped out to provide internship opportunities to students from the LOUIS PRESTON.
