Overview

Kerala, Gods Own Country is the Southernmost State of India. This lush and tropical State situated in the Malabar Coast was ranked as the least corrupt State in the country. Attractions

Backwaters: This region has forty four interlocking rivers snaking the land that falls into the Arabian Sea. This creates an extensive network of lakes, canals, and deltas around the region. Cruise the waters on a traditional houseboat or Kettuvallom, to indulge yourself in a serene experience of a lifetime.

 

Kochi: This most cosmopolitan city in Kerala is also known as the ‘Queen of Arabian Sea’. With a profound British, Dutch and Portuguese influence seen in its architecture, and artistic monuments the city of Cochin is a place of utter beauty. Ernakulam (the Gateway of Cochin) is ranked as the ‘commercial capital of Kerala’. There are many places and things of interest in the city i.e. Cheeyappara Waterfalls, Mattancherry Palace, Bolghatty Island, Willington Island, Hill Palace Museum, the Cochin Carnival and the Marine Drive.

 

Alappuzha:  This town known as the Venice of the East, situated near the coast of Kerala is home to the most scenic backwaters in the State. This is also the venue for the annual Snake Boat Races held during the Onam Festival. 

 

Kumarakom: Visit this magnificent group of Islands in Vembanad Lake filled with waterways, and lush greenery for a truly unforgettable experience.

 

Munnar: This town having the highest peak in South India, Anamudi; is located at the confluence of three mountain streams; Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundala. It is known to be one of the most beautiful hill stations in South India. You can picnic in Sita Devi Lake or in Nyayamakad; or be adventurous and go trekking in Attukal.

 

Beaches: Kerala is home to some of the most exotic beaches in the world. Some of the most popular beaches in the State are at Kovalam (rated as one of the best beaches in the world), Poovar, Alappuzha, and Fort Kuchi. The unspoiled and unexplored charm of these beaches will only make you coming back for more.

 

Kerali Ayurvedic Health Resorts: Ayurveda, India’s ancient medical science seems to have found a home in Kerala.

 

Athirappilly Waterfalls: Known as the Niagara Falls of India this is one of the best places to visit in Kerala. Situated on the Chalakudy river the best time to visit the falls is during the two Monsoon seasons. The Dream World and Silver Storm Water Theme Parks are located close to the falls.

Local Markets: Explore these market places and notice how it lures you with impossible bargains. You can purchase Indian spices, and the famous banana chips from these market places.

 

Souvenirs: Visit any of the souvenir shops available all over the State and get yourself a Kathakali mask, or a miniature snake boat made out of an extraordinary collection of wood.

 

Jewelry Shops: Kerala is known for its gold. You will find jewelry shops in every road in the major cities in the State.
